Just to clarify, Ms. Alptraum didn’t say she ‘believes women unconditionally’ — she said that her role is to offer support without judgment to people who are admitted to the ER after an assault. As you point out, it’s an assumption to think that only women are assaulted.

There’s a big difference between offering support and agency, and believing everything a person tells you.
