Very interesting take on “success!” Maybe I don’t know the right people, but I haven’t met anyone (yet) for whom self-loathing motivates them to achieve more. Generally the result is the opposite — self-loathing results in fear of taking risks, squandering talents, and living in a very closed world as well as keeping others at arm’s length to the point of extreme loneliness.

I’m about to spend a few hours with some friends whom you’ve never heard of, and who have managed to make reasonable peace with life. Maybe I’ll ask them their take on this.

My own story is one of becoming increasingly free to put myself out in the world, but only because I have come to realize I’m pretty damn okay.

I’d be very interested to hear your response!
