This was really moving—I felt the twists and turns with you. I was encouraged! Being a parent to young adults is a phase for which I haven’t found the guidebook! ….On another note—forgive the question, writer to writer—and I am NOT judging you at all. For me, putting anything negative about my children out on the Web, unless they read the piece first and gave permission to do, would feel like a betrayal. But maybe your daughter did give hers? This is always discussed in memoir circles…curious how you navigated that. And to be clear, I don’t believe there’s one right way. The individual writer must make that call.
