This was a lovely read. I can’t begin to understand it in a way I could explain, but intuitively it makes perfect sense. Why should our rationalist material mindset be able to grasp these things? I recall the story of an Australian Aborigine I read about who accurately, without breaking a metaphorical sweat, followed and traced the exact same trail an anthropologist had trekked many years before. The anthropologist was amazed. His method? He simply entered the past and walked “with” the anthropologist back then. No biggie in his mind. We’re so acculturated to think that rational materialism is the only way of being that makes “sense,” i.e, that has validity, when in fact it’s led us to the brink of environmental and social destruction! Our “pagan” ancestors knew better.
