Jules, this is awesome. The story of your 16-year old friend is heartbreaking, but his resilience is awesome. I know of an adolescent who suddenly experienced psychotic breaks, and it turned out the diagnosis was…Lyme disease. Fortunately both his parents and the professionals they consulted were not willing to accept the prevailing medical stupidity around this topic.
