I agree with Christine. I have apologized to men, many times, and will (probably have to) continue doing so. I love Tarana Burke’s quote:

“Apologies are not work. They precede work.”

When it comes to #MeToo, our work is just beginning. Listening and trying to understand the other’s perspective is essential.

(Burke is the founder of the #MeToo movement. Interestingly, the movement was born out of an encounter with a young woman who tried to tell Burke her personal story of sexual abuse — but Burke shut her down, telling her to talk with someone else.)
